Sympathisers trooped out at the weekend in Yenagoa in mourning the demise of the wife of a former Bayelsa Commissioner for Information in Bayelsa State, Chief Nathan Egba.

The remains of late Mrs Rosemarie Eneotse Egba were buried at her husband’s residence, in Okaka, Yenagoa Local Government, on Saturday.

Mrs Egba, a fashion designer, who hailed from Benue State, was residing in Abuja before her demise on August 20, 2020 after a brief illness. She was 44 years old.

A service of songs at DSP Alamieyesigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Yenagoa, preceded the burial.

Prayer sessions were held for the widower and the two children whom she left behind. The prayers were offered by pastors from Salvation Ministries.

In his words of exhortation, Pastor Sinikiem Gwegwe of Salvation Ministries described the late Mrs Egba as a dynamic person imbued with many talents.

Quoting from the book of Proverbs. Chapter 19 Verse 20, he lamented that people always think of money, property, power, positions and other worldly materials, stressing that death ends every human desire.

According to him, “If you are lucky in life, your body may be intact when you die. Many people had died without their dead bodies recovered.

“There is a purpose for everyone that is created on earth; the choice we make today determines the way we live our lives.

“We must always remember to impact life in whatever we do as human beings, on our daily activities.”

The cleric emphasised that nobody knows when the time would come, recalling that Jesus Christ lived for only 33 years and some months before his death.

He urged Chief Nathan Egba, to rise up to the challenge and show boldness for the sake of the young children she left behind.

In his remarks, Chief Egba described his late wife as a good and kind-hearted person.

He said during her last days on earth, she would keep praying for the whole family, and friends that she came across.

In his speech, the Executive Secretary, Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Wabote, described the departed as a good and kind-hearted wife that always believed in friendship. He urged the family to take heart.

In attendance were former Secretary to State Government, Mr Gideon Ekowei, Mr Alabo Martins, Secretary, All Progressives Congress (APC) Bayelsa State, and Mr David Alagoa, Commissioner for Agriculture, amongst others. (NAN)
