BNYL National Leader Chimezie Richard
The Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) has stated that it will go ahead with its planned National Convention coming up on September 28 in Enugu despite the security clamp down on pro-Biafra supporters in the state.
The national leader of BNYL, Princewill Chimezie Richard, said the Police and the Department of State Security (DSS) caused the clash between them and members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) at Emene, adding that it was wrong for the security agency to interfere with any gathering that is peaceful.
“If they find such gathering threatened public peace, they could disperse them peacefully and ask everyone to go home without firing a shot. It is because they have the mentality of a Nigerian man that is why they are misusing their bullets, they no longer have what to do, bandits have overwhelmed them.”
He said the group is going ahead with its convention in Enugu adding that not just the Igbo will converge in the state, he warned against interference adding that members of BNYL could react in their respective towns.
