DSS warns politicians against inciting statements

The Department of State Services (DSS) has warned against what it termed unguarded, inciting and divisive statements capable of heating up the polity.

The Deputy Director, Public Relations, Marilyn Ogar said the acts would not be tolerated while urging politicians to work together to strengthen the nascent democracy to build a better Nigeria..

In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja, she thanked Nigerians for their peaceful conduct during the Presidential election and urged them to shun all forms of violence before, during and after the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly election holding on April 11 2015.

“We call on all citizens to turnout and exercise their civic responsibility without fear as adequate security has been emplaced to ensure their safety,” she said.
