The Director-General, Media and Publicity of President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has described the social media report credited to him as being critical of President Goodluck Jonathan as a latest round of unwarranted scheme by those he called enemies of Nigeria to sow the seed of discord and create acrimony between him and the President.
In a release, signed by his Special Assistant, Jude Ndukwe, the former Minister for Aviation clarified that the said report was one he had released in 2013 before he returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“The statement being referred to was lifted from media reports of April 25, 2013 (two years ago), during the sojourn of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode in the All Progressives Congress (APC). The report does not, in any way, represent Chief Femi Fani-Kayode’s opinion of President Jonathan whom he holds in very high esteem, a fact that made the former Minister of Aviation work so vigorously for Mr President as Director, Media and Publicity of his campaign organization in the just concluded presidential election,” he stated.
The statement also stressed that Fani-Kayode’s effort during the campaign was particularly acknowledged by Mr President himself, pointing out that the cordial relationship between the duo is exemplary and legendary.
“The relationship between these two great men remains cordial. No degree of campaign of calumny by misguided elements can change this very fact!,” the statement stated.
Ndukwe also reaffirmed the commitment of his principal to Mr President, describing him as his leader with whom he is much pleased as a respectable politician.
He, therefore, called on the sponsor of the report to desist, and the public to ignore such now or in the future.
