Traders at the fairly Used and New Motorcycle Spare Parts Market in Nnewi Anambra State were recently prevented from accessing their respective shops over their inability to pay traders tax.

Some of the traders said they came to do business at the market situated at Okpuno Uzodike only to find out that the entrance to the market had been sealed with security men barring traders from entering the place.

It was gathered that the sealing of the market was due to the traders’ failure to pay taxes allegedly introduced by the Anambra State Government tagged ‘traders tax’.

When our correspondent reached the market, the place was gagged with rope while some people believed to be security operatives were seen pushing back traders from entering the market.(Daily Independent)
