The Nigeria Police has announced the death of the Commissioner of Police of Katsina Command, Alhaji Muhammad Hurdi..
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Aminu Sadiq, announced the demise of Hurdi in a statement issued to newsmen in Katsina on Sunday.
Sadiq said Hurdi died on March 27, during a protracted illness.
He added that the late commissioner joined the service in 1988 as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) cadet officer and rose through the ranks to become a commissioner.
The PPRO said Hurdi would be remembered as a patriotic and dedicated officer, who gave his best in the service of his fatherland.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Bala Zama Senche, in the statement, prayed to God to give the family fortitude to bear the loss.
