The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Osun State, Adekunle Ogunmola, has confirmed the receipt of results for the Presidential Election from 23 local government areas out of the 30 councils in the state.
Speaking to newsmen at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) state headquarters in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, the REC said that INEC was still expecting the remaining results from the other seven local government areas to come in before the final declaration.
Ogunmola attributed the delay to the fact that the collation involves the results of the senatorial and that of the House of Representatives, which, he said, must be carefully collated to avoid mistakes.
He said that INEC had been able to deliver what he termed a credible election despite the hitches experienced in some parts of the country, just as he gave the assurance that no voter was disenfranchised in Osun State.
