The Old Students Association of Western Annang Secondary Commercial School (WASCO), Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State, have resolved and adopted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship standard bearer, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as their “sole candidate that the WASCO Old Students are going to deliver 100 per cent votes for, in the April 11, 2015 polls.

The association declared in a popular motion moved by Obong Ofonime Dennis Uwah and seconded by Mr. Sunday Udo Ekpo, during a crucial meeting of the alma mater at the school assembly hall at Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Ukanafun on Friday.

“In view of Mr. Udom Emmanuel’s long and tested friendship with Ukanafun students, both old and new, his sterling professional pedigree and his avowed commitment to consolidate and sustain the tempo of uncommon transformation renaissance in the state, we have been convinced and endeared to adopt him as our sole and only flag bearer at the elections.”

“His pledge during his February 2015 gubernatorial campaign rally at Ikot Akpa Nkuk, our Local Government Headquarters, to elevate WASCO to a model and viable institution, if elected as governor of the state, the students and indeed the entire good people of Ukanafun, will leave no stone unturned in voting Udom to power.” the association assured.

The students, while promising to mobilise and sensitise the people of the council area to vote 100 per cent for Udom/Moses candidacy and all other PDP candidates in the March 28 and April 11, 2015 elections, the association expressed the hope that with Mr. Udom Emmanuel at the helm of affairs in the state, the WASCO alma mater and members of the association would enjoy the much needed dividends of democracy.

Notable old students present at the well attended meeting included the Protem President, Akuku Udom J. Ebetor, the Vice President, Mrs. Idongesit Ikpe Udom, Mr. Sunday Udo Ekpo, Mr. Umasco Ekeke and Obong Ofonime Dennis Uwah, the PRO, among others.

Observers have described the adoption of Udom as “a wise decision” and “well deserved, as according to them, “Udom is the most credible and most popular candidate in the Akwa Ibom governorship race.”
