The Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) has said it has no qualms with government’s efforts in probing its activities. This is equally as the Commission has pledged support and co-operation to the team of state auditors to this effect.
This was contained in a press statement released in Owerri, the Imo State capital, by the Media Manager of the oil commission, Mr. Ekeh Promise.
The release reads in full: “The Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) has expressed delight over the ongoing auditing of its past activities.
“The Commission sees the exercise as imperative for the cleansing of any augean stables that could have prevailed in the past.
“We view the ongoing exercise as routine and corporate, and therefore has resolved to give the team of auditors sent by the government, maximum co-operation and support.
“The Commission thanks Governor Hope Uzodimma for setting up a crack team from the state Auditor General’s office for this purpose, and appreciates His Excellency's efforts so that Commission’s staff would be paid up to date.”
