The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State has conducted its revised party primaries across the 13 local government Areas of the state ahead of August 29th, council elections.
This was in keeping with court order and to accommodate candidates of various political parties in the state by the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) which submission of names would end on August 10, 2020.
The election initially slated for April 25, 2020 was cancelled due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in the country.
The ruling PDP had earlier on March 14 held its first party primaries in the 13 local councils of the state.
After the fresh primaries held at the weekend, the following candidates emerged: Mr Emmanuel Nwangele, Abakaliki LGA; Mrs Oby Oko-Enyim, Afikpo North; Barr. Eni Uduma Chima, Afikpo South; Mrs Nora Oluchi Aloh, Ezza North; and Engr. Kenneth Eze, Ezza South.
Others include: Elder Steve Orogwu, Ikwo; Hon. Sunday Eze, lshielu; Hon. Paul Nwogha, lzzi; Mrs Chinyere Nwogbaga, Ebonyi; Mrs Nkechiyere Iyioku, Ohaozara; Engr. Felix Igboke, Onicha; Barr. Clement Odah, Ohaukwu; and Hon. Onyebuchi Ogbadu, Ivo.
News Express gathered that nine out the chairmanship candidates of PDP are the immediate past chairmen of their respective council areas while four others are new ones.
