Hoodlums wielding guns, axes, machetes and other dangerous weapons have gone on rampage in the Oshodi, Mushin, Maryland and Costain areas of Lagos State, Nigeria’s economic capital.
A Channels TV report said that commercial vehicle drivers were forced to discharge their passengers and drive off in fear, causing gridlock in the process.
“Traders at Oshodi were also said to have hurriedly shut their shops and fled as the hoodlums shot sporadically,” the report said.
The cause of the mayhem is not clear at this time but normalcy is said to have been restored by security agents.
