Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has expressed shock at the death of the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for North West, Mr. Inuwa Abdulkadir (SAN), saying that with his demise, Nigeria has lost a phenomenal statesman.

HURIWA described Inuwa Abdulkadir as an icon “who used his notable political offices as Attorney General of Sokoto State, Minister of Youth and Sports and the National Vice Chairman of the APC and positively and constructively improved the living conditions of millions of Nigerians.”

In a media statement by its National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, and the National Media Affairs Director, Miss Zainab Yusuf, HURIWA tasked President Muhammadu Buhari to immortalise the memory of Alhaji Abdulkadir by naming a national Institution such as the National Institute of Sports or a major street in the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja after him.

“This gentleman happens to be one of the few true statesmen who believe that all Nigerians are equal and should be treated with respect and dignity. He was a lover of human rights.

“We in HURIWA will induct him in the National Human rights hall of fame as a legend of human rights.”
