In order to ensure total compliance to the Lagos Federal High Court order of June 22, 2020 on the maintenance of status quo ante bellium with regard to the assets Balogun Business Association (BBA), Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, the association has set up a compliance committee.

Speaking with newsmen, the Chief Security Officer of the association, Prince Chuks Emechebe, said that as a law abiding association, the compliance committee was set up immediately the court gave the order.

Prince Emechebe, who is also the head of all the market security officers in Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, said that the purpose ofsetting up the committee is to ensure that no repairs, wielding or construction goes on anywhere in the complex pending the determination of the court case.

According to him, as a law-abiding association, the traders are complying with the court directives.

However, he said that because the traders are complying, people in opposition have resorted to sponsoring miscreants to discredit the good work of the compliance committee.

He said that the miscreants would go to sites where work had stopped long ago with head pans and shovels to pose as if they were working.

Speaking further, he said that some of the miscreants have been apprehended and handed over to Trade Fair Police for investigation and prosecution.

“It is unfortunate that some people could go to any length to inflict pain or do harm to others. Imagine some people going to sites where work has stopped long ago in obedience to order of the court to pretend as if they were working. They will take pictures and begin to post them everywhere to give the impression that we are not obeying court order. Some of them that we caught have been handed over to Trade Fair Police Station for prosecution,” Prince Emechebe said.
