PPA leader, Ezeemo bags award of excellence

The leader of People’s Progressive Alliance (PPA) in Anambra State, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, was on Friday honoured with an award of excellence by a Lagos-based non-governmental organisation known as Leadership and Role model foundation.

The organization spokesman, Mr. Emeka Asike said Ezeemo deserved the honour based on the good works he has done on education, agriculture, employment among others.

He said the various good works he has done even without being loud about it speaks volumes and cannot be swept under the carpet, adding that the ‘Back to school campaign, initiated by Ezeemo to equip schools, was an outstanding gesture no individual had ever done.

“Keep it up and God will reward you. It’s very difficult to give, yet you are a giver. We recognise all your effort and encourage you to keep the flag flying”, he said.

Respoding, Ezeemo expressed his joy for being spotted by the group to be honoured, saying that the occasion would go down in history.

“I am happy the group could spot me in my little efforts here and there in the nation. I don’t know how they spotted me and I wish I have done more. I urge you to still go out of your way and fish out lots of people who have sincerely contributed to the society. Such people need to be recognised.

“We are all looking forward to a better society and for them to have spotted me where I am in the village means they are doing well. I know if I am in Abuja or Lagos, I will be easily noticed.

“The important thing is not giving money but doing things that will help this nation grow to be a better place. Word of truth is enough,” he said.

Ezeemo also extended his gratitude to the leadership of the group and called on people to assist in their small measure to promote the country.

On the forthcoming presidential election, the PPA leader said that he had both candidates in his weighing balance but none of them passed, noting that it is better to put in someone who has been there before than to put a new person whose agenda may not be known.

“Somebody has been there before and the person coming, we don’t know what has in the coven. So, it is better to continue with the person we already know than bring in a new person,” he said.

The PPA leader pointed out that the reason for embarking on the back-to-school campaign was to see the children have the opportunity of returning to school.

He stressed that a lot of children do not have the opportunity to be educated even when it is their heart desire to do so.

“In Anambra State, we are not having the best yet. The primary school I attended is still better than what we have today, in terms of structure and other things. The schools are built as if they are meant for prisoners. For Anambra, we should have something better,” Ezeemo said.
