I think that is a doctrine of Igbos in that Catholic church because I am a Catholic and in my church saint Patrick's Catholic church, Benin City, Edo state to be precised, Catholics have even been encouraged to mingle with other religious men, women and others who have different views and doctrines(Pentecostals, Anglicans, Baptists, and lots more) . In terms of women been slidelined in the church that is not true for all. Women now head positions like been chair ladies, presidents e.t.c in church, even the reverend sister's gives communion too.
