Has the law and constitution changed in both Jonathan and Tinubu's administration. How come that the Minister of Justice in Jonathan's regime could advice that the president do have the power to remove an elected counsellor but the Tinubu you serve as your immediate boss could remove an elected governor. Posterity will judge every man

Dear Sir,
I am a graduate in Technical Education (B.Educ) with special reference to Metal Work Technology. I graduated from ABU, Zaria, at KADUNA POLYTECHNIC.
I then got employed by NIP0ST under Engineering Department. That was where I registered under COREN....... otherwise I would not have been been promoted periodically during the service, to the grade that I finally received my letter of retirement from the Federal Government Services.
Sir, are you including the B. Educ (Tech) in the one compulsory training in engineering before thier one year NYSC.?
PLEASE and KINDLY, tolerate me indicate that there is need, from my knowledge and experience, to include them.
Yours Sincerely. (COREN registered member) .

Please I want to know who foots the bills? And whether proper arrangement has been made by government or COREN for that purpose? Thirdly, how about making engineering a 4-year programme with a full year internship as an alternative?

Hmm, what you saying? After spending five years in university, they'll undergo another one-year program, followed by a one-year NYSC, totalling seven years. When it is not medicine. What's the purpose of the six-month IT internship at the 400 level? If they structured it like ICAN's program, it would be better. Study accounting, get your certificate, serve, and start working. If you want to become a chartered accountant, you can sit for their exams. In advanced countries like US, Canada, and UK it is 4-5 years. So, what is their problem in Nigeria?

This is good development, I hope they will be given some stipends. Make NYSC optional for them, NYSC has lost it relevance ,

Is a good plan , but is better if year in school can be reduce to year the the 5th year will be competency training, then nysc making 6years all together

It's a good development. That means the five years in school will have to be reduced to four years. Most universities in diaspora are four years. Just wondering.... What is the purpose of the 6 months industrial training?

When people are not relevant, they create more laws, the reason for SIWES is to enhance practical experience of the Engineers. The lapses in this regard can't be remedied by more laws. The industry has decayed the institutions are too theoretical and you want want prodce sound Engineers. This is self deception, a nation's development is systemic.

Congratulations to COREN. Its obvious you aspire to become medical engineers. After ensuring the programme is five years (instead of four), you now add another compulsory for these kids? COREN please get innovative and stop trying to narrow engineering to four associations Haa!!!!

The idea is awesome, but universities must open their workshops to public as teaching workshop where they solve real problems and earn good money to put students on salary and roaster them on shifts

This is a very good development provided it will not be politicised or commercialised. The problem with the Nigeria system is not the absence of good policies like the one being proposed by COREN but proper implementation. In any country where there's a high level of corruption, no policy works! Have you ever asked why there is a high level of food shortage in Nigeria when we have so many agricultural universities and research research centres?
