Ondo State governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Omoba Jimi Odimayo, has said that his aspiration is beyond APC Unity Forum, political party, religious or ethnic affiliation. He said his aspiration was a reflection of the people’s wishes.

In his goodwill message, during a familiarisation meeting recently with some selected leaders in the South Senatorial District of the state, the GMD of Arowolo Group Limited noted that his popularity across the state is as a result of his abilities to identify with the masses, particularly at the grassroots.

Odimayo declared himself the most suitable candidate for the coveted seat, claiming that God has ordained him to win the next election.

He noted that his knowledge of Ondo State, the length of time he had gone round for consultations and the sincerity of his messages, had endeared him to the people.

His words: “I am no stranger to our people and APC as a party. They know me, my antecedents, pedigree and capabilities. They trust me and are ready to give me their votes; which by God’s grace will fully count and earn me the party’s ticket.

“My aspiration is beyond APC Unity Forum, political party, religious or ethnic affiliation. I now carry the burden to liberate Ondo State masses from misgovernance and restore their dignity.

“The current system in Ondo State has failed the people. The socio-economic life of the people is bad while government continues to put the state resources into drain pipe projects. These must stop and I am prepared and burdened to do it.”

Omoba Odimayo assured that, if elected into office, his government will be morally obligated to implement people-oriented programmes, adding his seven points social contract to prosperity manifesto will be vigorously pursued.

He urged his coordinators in all the eighteen council areas of the state to brace up and continue to preach the good gospel of inclusive and all-embracing government to every electorate in Ondo State, stressing that his Governorship ambition is divine, as it is a done deal from God.

Also speaking at the meeting, the former chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, Chief Adewale Omojuwa, reiterated the commitment and aspiration of Prince Odimayo to take the Sunshine State to the enviable height in the comity of states, stressing that the readiness of the young businessman for the governorship race is undeterred.

Meanwhile, the familiarisation meeting, in a strict compliance to social distancing and other approved rules to combat the spreading of Covid-19, which took the Omojuwa-led team across the South Senatorial District of Ondo State, is an initiative designed to put smile on the faces of the people coupled with a preparation for full blown campaign activities after the lockdown occasioned by the novel corona virus pandemic.
