No fewer than 200 foreign embassies and multinational companies have indicated interest in participating in the forthcoming 11th edition of the National Trade and Exhibition Fair organised by the Sokoto State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, scheduled to hold from March 10 to 24, 2020.

President of the chamber, Alhaji Mu’azu Bello Mai Wurno, disclosed this at the inauguration of five committees for the commencement of the 11th edition of the trade and exhibition fair.

Mai Wurno said the aim of inviting foreign embassies and multinational companies was with a view to give the fair an international outlook.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the committees in Sokoto, president of the chamber said the aim of the committees was to ensure successful hosting of a befitting trade and exhibition fair in the state.

He said the chamber had carefully selected persons with wealth of experience in trade exhibition to chair the committees for maximum success.

The committees inaugurated include finance, headed by the president himself as chairman, utility, headed by Alhaji Yusha’u Abdullahi Furniture, as chairman and that of security, which headed by Alhaji Ibrahim Dan Yaro.

Other committees are reception committee, which had Alhaji Mua’azu Yakubu Ma’aji, as chairman and that of publicity, which was headed by Alhaji Aminu Habash, while Alhaji Saidu Mu’azu Alkammawa would serve as secretary.

Alhaji Mu’azu charged committee chairmen and their members to remain resolute and worked strictly on their committees’ terms of reference.

He said this year’s trade and exhibition fair would focus on showcasing the economic potentials of the state to the world.

He also said this year’s Argungu fishing and cultural festival motor rally would make a stopover at the fair ground after which it would be flagged-off by Governor Aminu Tambuwal on their way to Argungu.

“All council areas in the state would showcase their economic potentials with a view to woo investors to the state,” the president stated. (New Telegraph)
