The city of Guangzhou, in China, may well be on its way to Christian redemption, following the conversion of eighteen indigenes who stormed Nigeria to learn the rudiments of evangelism.

The eighteen converts, among them are three Catholic priests, two Catholic Rev. Sisters and other Chinese Christians, on arrival to Nigeria visited the Adoration Holy Ghost ministry in Uke, Idemili South local government area, Anambra State.

Addressing Catholic faithful at the ministry worship centre, the new converts who were accompanied on their journey to learn the rudiments of evangelism, appealed to Nigerians to pray for the deliverance of China.

The spokesperson of the new converts, Mary Lu, said they were in Nigeria on pilgrimage because of the assistance of a group known as Divine Love Prayer group, China, led by its coordinator, Brother Emeka Ugoagwu.

Lu, who is the Coordinator of the Chinese Charismatic Group, Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral, Guangzhou recounted how they encountered Jesus Christ in Guangzhou City through Rev Fr. Emmanuel Obimma a.k.a Ebubemonso.

According to her, God used him to heal their cancerous brother whose death had already been certified by medical experts.

She said: “Coming to Nigeria for church programme had its challenges but God intervened to the extent that we got some service waivers including ten dollars stamping per head."

According to her, they accepted Jesus Christ in 2006, and two years later, encountered Rev Fr. Ebubemonso who joined them at a hospital where their brother was counting his days on earth until God used Fr. Ebubemonso to restore his health.

In his sermon, the Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Reverend Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, aka Ebubemonso said he saw the revelation many years ago that Uke community Adoration ground will be an attraction ground internationally for pilgrims as God has chosen it as a healing ground.

Speaking on the topic, “Silencing the Accuser”, the Catholic priest asked Christians not to yield to the scheming of the enemy but rather remain focused and battle devil to a standstill before expanding their internal horizon through wisdom.

While warning against indulging in gossiping, Fr. Obimma regretted that over 1.3 Billion Chinese nationals do not know Jesus Christ as their only Lord and Savior.

He gave assurance that his ministry will support evangelism in China.

The cleric admonished Christians to pray for the Chinese Christians as it is very difficult to worship Jesus Christ in such a Communist nation.

Fr Obimma while appreciating the Divine Love prayer group leader, Emeka Ugoagwu for mobilizing his group to bring Charism to China which heralded Christianity in the city of Guangzhou urged Christians to learn to sacrifice.

He said: “Christians should learn how to sacrifice and engage in evangelism at all times as it attracts instant blessings.

“I am not a miracle worker but a vessel God is using to perfect His desires in the healing ground and miracle Arena, Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry Uke.

“The problem of Nigeria is recycling of power. Northerners should stop using Igbo Presidency 2023 to deceive Ndigbo as it is impossible to materialise unless by divine mandate.

“Igbos are complacent in pursuing an agreed but collective interest, but are quick in pulling down their own brothers.”

The Catholic priest called on Christians to shun arrogance and foolish brevity and embrace humility and self-control.

He further advised young boys to learn languages as it can change their fortunes in life.

On the issue of Operation Python Dance 111 by the military in the South East zone, Fr. Obimma said the Army should take the operation python dance 111 to Borno state and other states in the North East where Boko Haram is ravaging not in South East where there is peace.

He raised alarm that the python dance mission was a sinister move to wipe some other youths after so many lost their lives during the Operation Python Dance 11.

In his speech, the coordinator of Divine Love Prayer Group China, said they have a million testimonies to give from China saying that this was the first time such number of Chinese were living their country for a church-related engagement instead of a business trip.

He confirmed the cancer healing story as told by the Chinese pilgrims saying that he was a witness to the miracle.

Ugoagwu added: “It sounds odd in China to talk about Jesus Christ but we appreciated God for giving the 18 Pilgrims the boldness to carry the Bible to preach Jesus Christ to their people and to the extent of leaving their shores to learn the rudiments from Nigeria and Holy Ghost Adoration, Uke community Anambra state at that.

“I am fulfilled and happy that God used me and others to evangelise China and used our Charismatic group to bring evangelism there.”

He reminded the cleric that the people of China are still waiting for him to return after God used him to restore health to the cancer patient.

In his testimonial speech, the leader of the Catholic priests from China, Rev Fr. Joseph Guo from Quiaoxi, Guangzhou Shanxi province China said he took Fr. Obimma to the hospital and could testify God used him immensely to gather more flock after witnessing the healing of a cancer patient.

He expressed gratitude to the cleric and Nigerian Christians for bringing evangelism in a special way to China, and appealed for prayers for millions of people in China who don't know Jesus Christ.

An All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA governorship) aspirant in Imo State, Steve Nwoga, who attended the event in an interview prayed God Almighty to grant the pilgrims the grace and anointing to preach the gospel in a communist country like China.

“I pray they will be able to overcome persecution and reach the over one billion Chinese in their country who do not know Jesus Christ,” he said.

Nwoga, however, decried a situation where women are discriminated against because they were trouser to church or leave their hair uncovered saying that despite the fact that the female Chinese among them wore trousers with no scarf but yet went to alter for Holy Communion against what is obtainable here in Nigeria.

The Chinese pilgrims also worshipped at the Blessed Iwene Tansi Catholic Church Umudioka where Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma, presided as Resident Priest.

The Chinese pilgrims were accompanied on the trip by seven representatives of Nigerians resident in China who brought the message of repentance to them.
