The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has dismissed the declaration by the Defence Headquarters that the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) is a terrorist organisation.

In a statement made available to journalists on Friday in Awka and signed by the leader of MASSOB, Comrade Uchenna Madu, the statement maintained that IPOB is a non-violent group.

The statement reads: “This is another high level of military frustration of the Hausa/Fulani-dominated Nigeria Army. This is deliberate and shameless declaration on a legitimate and internationally registered organisation and it shows a subtle sign of another plan to continue their military onslaughts against the non violent and peaceful citizens of Biafra.

“It is officially known on international records that the fourth deadliest known terrorist group has been named as the Fulani militant group operating in Nigeria and parts of the western and central Africa.

“Only Boko Haram, ISIS, and Al-Shabab were deemed deadlier than this little known militant group sponsored by Islamist Fulanis. It is also very shameful that the Hausa Fulani dominated Nigeria military have never acknowledged the justified verdict of the International community on Fulani herdsmen operating in western, eastern and middle belt region of Nigeria as a global terrorist organisation.

“This is a shameful and frustrated hypocrisy from Buhari’s Moslem brotherhood. MASSOB wish to remind Arewa defence headquarters that a sitting judge of Nigeria federal high court admitted and acknowledged that IPOB is a global reputable organisation.

“Nigeria Army’s show of unguided, primitive and barbaric force on the people of Biafra is a sign of jittery and fear of Biafra.

The military Python dance, cobra and other snakes dance can never stop the overflowing consciousness and realities of Biafra.

“This insensitive actions of the Nigeria military against the people of Biafra is deeply assisting in dividing Nigeria.”

MASSOB further warned that any attempt or plan to re-arrest IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will be thoroughly and massively resisted, saying: “We can never tolerate it.”

Continuing, the group said, “It is an insult and embarrassment to our inalienable Rights. Now that we know that our consistency and exposure of the hidden truth is dangerously frustrating, dis-organising and killing the age long Hausa Fulani Islamic agendas against the people of Biafra, we shall never relent or surrender.

“The Biafra Security Service of IPOB is a non violent and armless members. There is no plan or intention of involving in arms struggle. We, the people of Biafra have never opposed or condemned the Arewa sharia police called Hisbah. Why should they get jittery of Biafra security consciousness. Has there been any evidence of terrorism or violent acts of Biafra agitators?

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or IPOB, even MASSOB or Uchenna Madu are not the problem of Nigeria. Hausa Fulani Islamic agendas backed by the British government are the headaches that will soon collapse Nigeria.”
