The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has said that the contractor, Julius Berger Nig. Ltd (JBN) for the Kaduna-Abuja Road repair has asked for a 50% Mobilization Fee, to commence the renovation of the road.

He disclosed this while briefing the Senate on Tuesday on the proposed closure of the Abuja Aiport Closure, adding that the Ministry is concerned particularly with the renovation of the Kaduna-Abuja Road as the Kaduna Airport is the official alternative airport for the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Fashola assured that the Federal Government will show responsibility for the safety and security of her Citizens and hold the development in high esteem.

In his comment, the Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, remarked that the planned renovation of the Abuja Airport is sorted, insisting that what now needs to be sorted is closure or not and the safety in Kaduna road.
