The House of Representatives at plenary on Tuesday, adopted reports on seven public petitions on alleged breach of trust, unlawful termination of employment, violation of Petroleum Industry Act(PIA) among others.

The adoption followed the presentation of the reports by the Chairman, House Committee on Public Petition, Rep. Laori Kwamoti (PDP-Adamawa) in Abuja.

Presenting the reports, Kwamoti said that the petitions were referred to the committee by the house at various times and a proper investigation was carried out, carrying all stakeholders along.

He said that the reports include a petition by Commit Technology and Consult Ltd against the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and

PCL International Ltd on alleged fraudulent conduct, misrepresentation, and breach of joint

venture agreement in implementation, referred to the committee on August 27, 2025.

Kwamoti said that it included a report on a petitionby 530 disengaged staff of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) against the authority for alleged

refusal to implement approved payment of full miscellaneous benefit, 15 years pension arrears and enrollment of eligible staff, referred to the committee on February 20, 2025.

The lawmaker said that reports also included a petition by Lady Grace Ayoo against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for alleged career stagnation, reffered to the committee on August 22, 2025.

Among is reports, the lawmaker said is a petition by U-Peters Associates and Consortium of Consultants against the Maritime Academy of

Nigeria, Oron for alleged non-payment of outstanding consultancy fees, referred to the committee on April 27, 2025.

Kwamoti said that a petition by Barahatihi Nig. Enterprises Ltd against Fleet Street Investment Ltd. on alleged criminal breach of trust in respect of N3.8 billion, referred to the committee on August 7, 2023.

“There is also a report on petition by Nsisan-Obari Royal Palace Alesa Council of Chiefs against Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Ltd. on alleged violation of PIA 2022, referred to the committee on April 27, 2024.

“There’s also a report on a petition by City-Point Global Properties and Investment Ltd. against the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria on alleged non-release and disbursement of the loan sum of ₦479,187,955.20 for the development 160 Housing Units along Bende Road, Umuahia North Local Government Area, Abia, referred to the committee on September 3, 2024,” he said.

The chairman of the public petition committee urged the house to receive and adopt the reports for immediate implementation by relevant agencies.

In his ruling, the Deputy Speaker, Rep. Benjamin Kalu who presided over plenary commended the committee and said that the reports will be transmitted for compliance. (NAN)
