The Tinubu Impact Movement (TIM) on Sunday formally sealed what it described as a historic alignment partnership with the City Boy Movement (CBM), pledging to mobilise 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the next electoral cycle.

The alliance, unveiled at a well-attended event in Abuja, is projected by both groups as a strategic consolidation of grassroots structures aimed at strengthening youth-driven political mobilisation nationwide.

Under the partnership framework, TIM committed to delivering 2.5 million votes out of the 10 million votes targeted across the country by the City Boy Movement and its partners. Leaders of the groups described the target as data-backed and structure-driven, rather than aspirational rhetoric.

Speaking on behalf of TIM, which is officially registered with the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Obinna Ehirim told The Nation that after TIM received formal acknowledgment from the ruling party in August 2025, the movement established documented operational structures in over 30 states, spanning local government areas, wards, and polling units, and set up physical offices in some locations.

“TIM positions itself as a disciplined, data-oriented support platform with a mandate to document and amplify the achievements of the Tinubu administration while building what it calls evidence-based support for policy continuity beyond 2027; our internal data indicate sustained membership growth, with daily registration spikes recorded in recent weeks and projections suggest that the membership base could double within weeks if the current trend is sustained.

“According to figures released at the alignment event, 55 per cent of TIM’s membership falls within the 18–35 age bracket, while over 72 per cent are within the economically active 25–45 range. The gender composition is 62 per cent male and 38 per cent female, with plans underway to expand female participation.

“Professionally, 47.1 per cent of our members are drawn from business and entrepreneurship, while others come from education (13.5 per cent), government and civil service (6 per cent), politics and civil society (5.8 per cent), technology and ICT (3.4 per cent), health (3 per cent) and other sectors but note that 99.07 per cent of our registered members have subscribed to our collective resolve to vote for Tinubu in 2027, with only 0.67 per cent undecided,” Ehirim stated.

Part of the major highlight of the TIM/City Boy Movement event was the conferment of the title “TIM Leader” on the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, who serves as a co-Patron of the City Boy Movement, and the Director General of CBM, Mr. Francis Tosin Shoga.

The honour, organisers said, recognises their roles in promoting youth participation and political engagement within the framework of the Electoral Act and the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In his remarks, Olawande commended TIM’s structured growth and accepted the responsibility conferred on him, stressing that the movement should intensify efforts toward greater female inclusion.

While paying tributes to the patron of City Boy Movement, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, the Minister also reaffirmed his association with CBM, which he described as an inclusive platform open to Nigerians across political and social divides.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Francis Tosin Shoga called on Tinubu-aligned 2027 support groups to formally register with the City Boy Movement to enhance coordination and discipline, stressing the need for realistic planning anchored on electoral data from the last cycle.

Earlier, the leaders of TIM had visited the APC National Secretariat, where they met with the party’s National Deputy Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, and presented the movement’s structural expansion blueprint and mobilisation roadmap.

Dalori was also conferred with the role of “TIM Leader” in recognition of his contributions to progressive politics.

Accepting the honour, he commended the group’s organisational model and pledged to provide guidance, facilitate access to party leadership, and link TIM with relevant support group platforms within the APC structure.

The emerging alignment between TIM and the City Boy Movement signals an early consolidation of pro-Tinubu support networks, particularly among youth and professional blocs, as political actors quietly begin positioning for the 2027 contest. (The Nation)
