A mother of one, Hadiza Baffa, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, alleging that her biological father, was obstructing justice in a case involving Mr Kabiru Turaki, former Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Minister.

Baffa, made the allegation in a petition she wrote to the Inspector-General (I-G) of Police and DIG, Force Criminal Investigation Department, in Abuja.

The certified ?rue copy of the petition, titled: ?Petition Against Mr Musa Bashir, for Obstruction of Justice, Collusion and Defamation,? was submitted at the Central Mall Collection Office, Department of Finance and Admin, Force Headquarters Abuja and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

?I write this petition with utmost urgency and distress to request an immediate investigation into the actions of Mr Musa Bashir, who has knowingly interfered in a criminal matter that has caused me immense psychological, emotional and social trauma.

?I am a survivor of sexual assault and abuse perpetrated by Turaki, who deceived me under the guise of support for my education in Abuja.

?After years of no contact, I was advised to inform my biological father, Mr Musa Bashir, of my situation.

?Upon being informed, he expressed outrage.

?However, in a shocking turn of events, after Mr Turaki sued me and my family, my father did not only reconnected with him but also began collaborating against me,? she alleged.

According to her, her father interfered in her legal proceedings.

She alleged that her father collected her case file and engaged another lawyer without her consent.

She alleged that her father made a secret agreement with the ex-minister which involved financial compensation.

She also alleged that he wrote a defamatory letter falsely claiming he conducted an investigation proving that she was lying, ?thereby attempting to discredit me in court.?

According to her, this letter was tendered in Zone II Magistrates? Court but was rejected.

?Inspite of a conclusive DNA test by the Nigerian Police Force (Force CID Area 10), Gender Department, confirming that Turaki is the biological father of my child, my father has continued to support his claims and actions.

?Using the same falsified letter to sue me in another court, further perpetuating emotional harm and defamation.

?His actions not only constitute obstruction of justice but also collusion and an attempt to pervert the course of legal proceedings through misinformation and financial incentives.?

Hadiza, therefore, urged the I-G and DSS DG to invite and interrogate her father regarding the ?investigation? he claimed to have conducted.

?Investigate the source of payment and agreement between him and Turaki.

?Examine whether my father?s actions amount to criminal conspiracy and defamation under Nigerian law.

?Uphold the integrity of the police investigation and the DNA results already conducted by the Force.

?Please help me obtain justice for myself and my child.

?I trust in your good office to investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that those obstructing justice are held accountable,? she demanded.

Attached to the petition are a copy of her father?s letter presented in court, the DNA test result, other supporting documents, including court documents. (NAN)
