President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, has felicitated his Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Dr. Monday Onyekachi Ubani, SAN, on the occasion of his birthday.

In a congratulatory message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Senator Akpabio described Ubani, who turns 61 today, Sunday, July 27, 2025, as a tireless human rights crusader and a legal luminary of immeasurable depth.

?As one of the finest lawyers around, Dr. Ubani?s contributions to the growth of our nation's legal system and democratic development will remain indelible. His courageous stance against military dictatorship alongside legends like the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi is well documented, as is his remarkable imprint in the restoration and consolidation of democracy in Nigeria.

?As former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch, and later as Chairman of NBA-SPIDEL, Dr. Ubani left enduring legacies that advanced the Rule of Law. His tenure as the Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association also witnessed commendable progress in the defence of justice and constitutionalism,? Akpabio said.

He noted that Ubani ?has consistently stood against injustice and oppression, and has been a relentless voice for the downtrodden through strategic public interest litigations.?
