Jos Electricity Distribution Plc has vowed that the mobile barracks will remain disconnected until the outstanding debt is settled.

The company said that the decision to have the mobile barracks disconnected was a result of the attack on their staff member.

According to the statement released on Sunday and made available to our correspondent in Makurdi, the Head, Corporate Services of the organisation, Friday Elijah, said that some mopol officers had stormed the JED PLC Business Unit Office in Makurdi on Sunday afternoon and beat up its staff.

While condemning the attack on its staff by members of the Nigerian Mobile Police Force, Elijah said that the police action was in response to the disconnection of the electricity supply to the Mobile barracks due to non-payment of bills amounting to N112,420,658.65.

?The police men stormed the office in a commando style and descended on the security guard on duty ? Mr Hassan Ademu.

?He was beaten to a stupor and had his head broken.

?The management of JED PLC has announced plans to write a protest letter to the Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, over the attack on its staff,? the statement read in parts.

Elijah who said that the management of JED PLC had expressed serious concern over the attack on its staff vowed to take further action to protect its employees.

?The management has also warned that the mobile barracks will remain disconnected until the outstanding debt is settled ?, the statement read.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Udeme Edet said she was yet to receive such report.
