The children of Brigadier General Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, late elder statesman, politician, erstwhile military governor of defunct Midwestern State and civilian governor of equally defunct Bendel State have disowned a man purported to be one of his sons. They have consequently demanded a retraction of a publication in that regard as well as an apology.

The Executors of the Ogbemudia Estate made the demands in a letter dated April 3, 2024 and addressed to the Editor of Midwest Herald, under the title, Re: ?Retraction of post titled, ?Late Ogbemudia?s Son Writes IBB: "Your Book Didn't Expose MKO?s Dark Secrets My Dad Told Me Led to Army Annulling June 12?.

The children said that the article, attributed to a man named Dr. Nelson Ogbemudia, contains egregious inaccuracies that have severely misrepresented the S. O. Ogbemudia family and maligned the legacy of their late father, Gen. S.O Ogbemudia.

They said that said even more disturbing was the fact that the publication identified Dr. Nelson Ogbemudia as their father?s son. They stressed that ?this person is not, and has never been, a member of Gen. S. O. Ogbemudia?s family.? Below is the full text of the letter:
