Nigeria?s Super Eagles are dominating their hosts the Wasps of Rwanda in their 2026 World Cup qualifying match on-going in Kigali, with the visitors taking an early lead, eventually ending the first half 2-0.

Eagles? new gaffer Eric Chelle has unleashed Osimhen and reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman in the attack, with the partnership yielding a quick goal when Osimhen whipped Lookman?s free kick into the net in the eleventh minute of play. Osimhen struck again in the closing stanza of the first half to extend the lead to 2-0.

Lookman and Osimhen, his predecessor as African Player of the Year, are in fine form for their clubs this season, having both scored over 40 goals this campaign.

Regulars Samuel Chukwueze and Simon Moses were also named in the starting eleven. In the middle, Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City and Fulham?s Alex Iwobi are running things for the three-time African champions in Kigali.

Iwobi?s teammate Calvin Bassey and Troost Ekong is partnering in the heart of the defence for Nigeria while pair of safe hands Stanley Nwabali mans the post for Chelle?s side.

Bright Osayi-Samuel completes the first eleven. However, Bayer Leverkusen?s Victor Boniface and Tolu Arokodare of the Belgian side Genk are on the bench for the must-win clash.

The Super Eagles are winless since the start of the World Cup qualification series. They have just managed three points in four games in Group C. That has rooted them in the fifth position in the six-nation qualification race for the competition set for the US, Canada, and Mexico.

After the ongoing match, Nigeria will play Zimbabwe on Tuesday in Uyo.
