A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chinedu Obigwe, has dismissed Rev Fr. Emmanuel Obimma's claim that the administration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has witnessed the highest number of killings in Anambra?s history.

He accused the cleric, popularly known as Ebube Muonso, of politicizing insecurity in Anambra State, noting that the state witnessed worst scenario in the past.

Recall that Rev Obimma had in his New Year message, called on Governor Soludo to address the security situation in the state or resign, describing the situation as horrible.

Obigwe who spoke in Awka said that the state recorded some high profile killings and abductions during the regime of a certain former governor of the state.

He said: "These incidents included the killing of a former Deputy Governor and the discovery of 46 floating corpses on Ezzu river.

"Rev Fr. Ebube Muonso is being sponsored to frequently attack the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.?

The APGA chieftain described Obimma's actions as one driven by selfish interests, seeking to promote his preferred candidate in the 2025 election.

He expressed belief that Rev Fr. Obimma has become the mouthpiece of disgruntled opposition elements, seeking to politicize insecurity issues in the state ahead of the 2025 governorship election.

While criticising Ebube Muonso for not offering any solutions to the insecurity problem, he stressed that he is rather seeking to score cheap political points against the current regime.

He further expressed confidence in Governor Soludo?s administration, saying that his government is doing their best to tackle insecurity in the state.

Obigwe further stressed the need for collective action to address the issue, rather than politicizing it, and warned the likes of Rev Fr. Ebube Muonso to desist from sabotaging the governor?s efforts.

He said: "I'm confident that the outcome of the 2025 election will be a shocker to Rev Fr. Ebube Muonso and his sponsors."
