A middle-aged man, ThankGod Adiegbuo, an indigene of Umueze Village in Umunnachi, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, has miraculously escaped the pangs of death after he was lured into it by a friend who is also his in-law

Narrating his near death experience in a video that is making the round on social media, Adiegbuo said that he managed to escape his abductors? web of death just few minutes after they took a decision to slaughter him.

He said: ?My very close friend, classmate and someone I?m married to his sister lured me to my abductors.?

According to him, the incident which happened recently at Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State all started when he met his very friend (name withheld) at a filling station when he went to buy fuel with his car.

Adiegbuo explained that the friend, who hails from Umudioka, in Dunukofia Council area, after running into him at a filling station where he went to buy fuel for his car, complimented him for the way he looked.

He said: ?Since then, he has been calling me on the phone, inviting me to come and see him. But I have not been having chance to go.

?So, today I decided to visit him. He told me there?s a place he is building house, close to the Abagana Girls Secondary School. So, he gave me direction to the place, and I took off to the place with my car.

?When I got close to a particular place close to the area, I saw him with a lady, and he told me that she was his girlfriend. And after we greeted, he pointed to an uncompleted building in a bush and said it was the house he told me he was building. So, he requested that we drive closer to the place and go in to see it.

?When we got close to the house, my friend showed me another compound behind it and told me it?s a house of a herbalist who performs fortune-telling (igba afa) for him.

?He requested me to join him to that place. I told him I needed to park my car outside, but he suggested that I should drive it into the compound of the fortuneteller. And I obliged.

?When we got in, I also told the herbalist to do consultations for me as it us something I usually do. I dropped N2,000 for him from the N3,000 I had on me. He said it was too small but will accept it because of my friend.

?What the herbalist was saying in the course of the consultation (igba afa) was not making sense to me, but while it was going on, two men surfaced from nowhere with Pump Action gun and matchet, pointed it at me and commanded me to lie down and close my eyes or I will be killed.?

According to Adiegbuo, they tied his hands behind with a kind of shawl, blind folded him, tied his mouth with pieces of cloth, chained his legs, and dispossessed him of all he had, including his phones, his car key, his wallet and his ATM cards and immediately emptied all the money in his bank accounts after they forced him to reveal his bank PIN and the amount in the accounts.

Further narrating his ordeal, Adiegbuo said that they returned to ask him how much had in the two bank accounts, but, he explained to them that he recently paid carpenters for the job they did for him, hence he has only N150,000 in one account while the other one has nothing in it.

He noted that the kidnappers were not satisfied with the amount of money they saw in his bank accounts; which made them begin to discuss killing him (probably to sell his body parts for higher proceeds).

He recalled that he heard his friend telling the people to kill him immediately, as he would expose him and their deeds if he regains his freedom.

This, he said, sent fear down his spine, that he began to pray, calling his God, his ancestors to come and save him, otherwise, he will be killed.

?At some point while i was praying, strength from nowhere came over me and I quietly slipped out my hands and legs and untied all that they used to bind me, while they were still outside discussing about how to kill him.

?After untying myself, I sneaked out from one of the windows in the building where they kept me, jumped the fence and escaped, running through the tick bush to the opposite direction of where they were, without knowing where I was going to, till I saw a fence and jumped into the compound, but later discovered that it was the fence of Abagana Girls Secondary School.

?When the students saw me, they became afraid and started shouting, raising alarm and scampering for safety, saying, there?s a man in our school, but I pleaded with to calm down, that I needed help.?

When asked by the person taking the video if police should be called in to prove that what he was saying was true, he said ?yes?, adding that his car, wallet, phone, ATM cards were still with his abductors.

When contacted, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said that the Command had not received any report to that regard.
