Pius O. Ughakpoteni, an advocate for sustainability and former Director of Corporate Affairs at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has announced the release of his debut science fiction novel, ?The Energy Nexus?.

The highly anticipated first book in the Sustainability Lens Series will be available on Amazon starting November 30, with pre-orders open now.

Blending the pulse-pounding action of sci-fi with a timely exploration of humanity?s environmental challenges, ?The Energy Nexus? transports readers into a Multiverse where our choices about energy shape the fate of entire worlds.

In a near-future Earth ravaged by environmental collapse, teenage siblings Jake and Emily struggle for survival in the ruins of Phoenix. Their discovery of a hidden quantum chamber leads them on an extraordinary journey through alternate realities, revealing a utopian Earth thriving on solar energy and a dystopian world devastated by fossil fuel dependency.

Guided by Professor Anya Sharma and armed with the Resonator ? a device capable of healing their own Earth ? they face high-stakes challenges and ethical dilemmas as they confront the shadowy Chronos Corporation, which seeks to exploit the quantum technology for profit.

The novel has already garnered praise, with veteran journalist and former Editor of Sunray, Ifeatu Agbu, describing it as ?a great read. Join the journey, and you will love it.?

With its compelling narrative and thought-provoking themes, ?The Energy Nexus? delivers a powerful message of hope, resilience, and the impact of individual and collective actions in addressing global challenges.

Drawing inspiration from decades of work in sustainability, Ughakpoteni brings a unique perspective to his storytelling. As a seasoned journalist, public relations expert, and retired corporate affairs director, he has spent over 30 years advocating for sustainable development.

His doctoral research at Business School Lausanne examined the influence of C-suite executives on corporate sustainability performance. This subject deeply informs his writing. Ughakpoteni is also the founder of the Center for Corporate Sustainability Performance Advancement (CCSPA) and currently serves as the Executive Director of Research and Sustainability Thought Leadership at The Plenary, a parliamentary publication in Nigeria.

Through ?The Energy Nexus?, Ughakpoteni channels his expertise into a gripping tale that entertains and inspires readers to reflect on their role in shaping a sustainable future. The book?s blend of cutting-edge sci-fi and pressing environmental themes makes it a must-read for fans of the genre and advocates of clean energy.

Praised as perfect for fans of sci-fi adventures, dystopian fiction, climate fiction (cli-fi), and stories centered on sustainability, ?The Energy Nexus? promises to captivate readers from all walks of life.
