“The reconstruction work will commence with a two-day dismantling and evacuation of the damaged pedestrian bridge from 2.00 p.m. on March 9 to March 10.

“The alternative routes for motorists apart from the layby at Estate Gate which will be opened to traffic during the dismantling process are stated below; for traffic management plan to 3rd Mainland Bridge

The commissioner for transportation stated other alternative routes and traffic management plan to Ojodu Berger.

“Motorists heading to 7up/Motorway/Ojodu Berger from 3rd Mainland Bridge will use the main carriageway but will experience a little bottleneck before the bridge as the three lanes will be narrowed to two lanes on Saturday to allow dismantling and evacuation of the bridge stairs.

“Motorists heading to ketu/Ikorodu-Lagos Road from the 3rd Mainland Bridge will utilise the slip road at Estate Gate Alapere to connect Ajiboye Street inwards Demurin Street down to Ketu to connect Ikorodu-Lagos Road,” he said.
