Drinking Ice water is back, but it’s definitely not one naira, as it was during the early 80’s and late 90s. Nigerians are surely reacting to this latest development.

The current economic conditions have pushed Nigerians resorting back to their old styles, currently the NBS report placed Nigeria’s food inflation on an all time high. The agency pegged it at 33.93% on a year-on-year basis, which was 10.18% points higher compared to the rate recorded in December 2022 (23.75%).

A sachet of pure water now goes for #50 with a bag currently #400 in some places, rather than initial #300. Nigerians have therefore turned their attention to ice water, which can now be seen in a viral video being circulated online.

We are still doubting the health safety of pure water but here we are with “ice water” pic.twitter.com/K5AKWYAVVJ

One person said;

No one knows if they’ve used that “baff” to watch clothes or where they fetched the water from.

Dysentery, cholera and all other gastrointestinal infections might just be endemic within that area.

Lmao. APC has taken us back to the era of ice water. Evil people

My wife was saying this last night when I told her the price of pure water I heard.

In her words, “they will soon start selling ice water”

We moved past this years ago, wtf!!!

Ice water was a thing when we were growing up.

It started with people serving you cold water with cup, later they started using nylon.

Dora Akunyili got rid of it during Obasanjo, but it is now coming back during tenure of Tinubu. Same criminal that was always going against OBJ

Chaii

This was in vogue during abacha’s regime. The Nigerian economy was crap then. Sondos was the major means of cooking.

This is more than 30years and we are reliving it.

This is beyond bad

Worse is an understatement

My God! Ice water that Dora Akunyuli eradicated is back😳? This is proof of how messed up the economy has become. Some people can no longer afford pure water hence the emergence of ice water. We are finished
