The All Progressives Grand Alliance Southern Africa Chapter (APGA SA) has hailed the New Year Eve judgement of the Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri which declared APGA’s Dr. Alex Otti as the duly elected Governor of Abia State.

Expressing his satisfaction on the judgement, the Chairman of APGA SA Chapter, Engr. Henry Onyekumnaru, described the victory as a declaration of the proper voice of the Abia people by the judiciary.

According to him, the Nigeria judiciary has again risen up to the expectations of the common man as the only hope in recent democratic process. “APGA in Nigeria and Diaspora has always believed in the rule of law. This Appeal court judgement has re affirmed our confidence in the Nigeria judiciary and shown that the days of manipulating the voters in Nigeria are over. Abia people have knows that it is the cadre of Dr. Alex Otti that can take them to the promised land by using the ideology imbibed in APGA as an ideal political party that has the interest of its members at heart,” Onyekumnaru said in a statement e-mailed to News Express.

The APGA chieftain expressed optimism that other mandates being pursued in other courts and states like Nassarawa, by Labaran Maku, the National Secretary of the party, and Zamfara by the immediate past National Secretary to the party “will surely be actualised in favour of APGA.”

As per the upcoming re-run in Anambra Central, Engr. Onyekumnaru stated that after due consultation of Ndi Anambra Central in South Africa and Nigeria, it is evident that Anambra Central needs a voice which is reflective of the wishes of the people of which Chief Victor Umeh of APGA represents as right person with Igbo Agenda for the job. “There is no doubt that Anambra Central will vote APGA considering that the great works the amiable Governor Willie Obiano is doing in Anambra State,” he said.

He also advised Ndi Igbo, especially the agitators of Biafra under the umbrellas of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualization of Biafra (MASSOB), “to shun violence and embrace democratic process in achieving their aspirations, especially by joining APGA which is a wagon already set moving by the supreme leader of Biafra and Eze Igbo, late Chief Emeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, as a civil and democratic way to achieving their aim.”
