My attention has been drawn to a publication in Monday, October 26,

2020 article in the Daily Sun newspaper, page 6, with the headline: “My Father is not the nation’s problem – Zahara Buhari.”

The publication stated that President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Zahra Buhari-Indimi, has absolved her father from blame over the discovery of palliatives in warehouses across the country by youths who have continued to loot the items. The newspaper stated that Zahra Buhari-Indimi made the statement in a post in her verified Instagram handle, @mrs-zmi.

She said her father had done his part by distributing the items, but lamented that other people apparently deprived the people of the benefit. She went on to say that with the discovery of the palliatives in warehouses, Nigerians should know her father was not the problem.

Ordinarily, I would not have reacted to the vituperations of a young woman against Nigerians, in her blind and nebulous desire to defend her father. However, as a good citizen of this country, I declare that the President's daughter has further exposed her father to condemnation and his poor knowledge of leadership.

Apart from reportedly approving the distribution of palliatives nationwide, President Buhari also shared bail-out funds to state governors to be used to pay salaries of civil servants and pensioners, who were owed many months of salary arrears. Unfortunately,

reports had it that the funds were diverted.

Also, Buhari shared Paris Club funds to state governors for payment off salaries to workers of state governments. Reports had it that the funds were diverted.

In all these interventions by President Buhari, funds and palliatives for the people were mismanaged and diverted by some of these state governors. Yet, Buhari kept quiet and continued to make interventions.

By releasing more funds and palliatives, which would still be diverted, two things are very clear here: It is either Buhari is an accomplice in this criminal behaviour of diversion of palliatives and funds meant for civil servants, pensioners and, indeed, the masses; or he is a complete dullard who has continued to fall prey and mugu to the manipulations of these governors, without decoding their criminal intents all along.

Buhari is supposedly fighting the war against corruption, yet he has refused to take action against these governors. Nigerians can now understand why President Buhari is

fighting war against corruption with a compromised and very corrupt so-called anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

If, as the president of Nigeria, I did all that President Mohammadu Buhari did and state governors sabotaged them through looting and diversion, I will take laws into my hands, by setting aside the constitution for a moment, and then deal ruthlessly, mercilessly and decisively with these state governors and all their accomplices, not minding if they have or enjoy immunity.

Why, then, am I the President and Commander-in-ChIef, if not to use my powers during emergencies and situations as this? Since the failure or success of my government depends on my ability to perform, I will exercise my powers such that nobody will ever think of being corrupt.

But, because, we have a president who has deliberately and consciously allowed himself to be boxed into a corner, corruption has now become a major stakeholder in his government of iniquity.

The truth is that, President Muhammadu Buhari is a huge joke on the leadership of this country. We came out to the streets to complain of the actions of the same governors. Buhari ordered the army to shoot at innocent protesters. How do we get the governors to act right when Buhari protects them? He saw the Kano State Governor, Ganduje’s video, yet he supported him for a second term.

I shed no tears or have sympathy for him. So, his daughter’s attempt to hoodwink Nigerians by attempting to shift blame away from her father, despite bold evidence of inept leadership in this country, should be seen as an aggravated insult on all Nigerians.

Therefore, the President's daughter, Zahra, should just shut up. Clearly, President Buhari is our problem (from devaluation of leadership, mismanagement of leadership to clannishness and nepotism). Full stop!

I don’t want to be pushed to react more than this.
