Internationally acclaimed Nigerian actor and film executive, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, professionally known as Olu Jacobs, has been initiated into the ongoing “Don’t Leave Me” challenge.

The 77 years old veteran actor considered to be one of the most influential African actors of all time, and is widely regarded as a cultural icon, during the week posted a video clip on his Instagram page holding an egg up and with a broad smile he said: “What am I holding? And egg. And where am I holding it? In the garden. But does that make it a garden egg?”

He broke into laughter, suddenly got serious, then screamed while pointing a finger and said, “Don’t Leave Me!”

An actor is an actor any day, any time.

With the video clip, this saying has again been confirmed by this Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, England trained actor who was rumoured to have died recently.

What is the “Don’t Leave Me” challenge?

You probably hate bad jokes as much as the next person, and the “Don’t Leave Me” challenge is all about bad jokes. If you’ve got an arsenal of bad jokes and horrible puns you’ve been sitting on, this might be the challenge for you.

The whole point of the challenge is to share a pun or equally horrible joke and follow it up with “don’t leave me” as you run away from the camera. It’s the typical reaction you’d expect out of anyone who tells a bad joke – it’s just been turned into a trend on the internet.

Examples:

- If my cat sits on the pillar, is it a caterpillar?

- If my name is Rita and I dominate in whatever I do, does that make me Rita Dominic?

- If a group of short people are coming together does it mean shortcoming?

- I just saw a man fall into a small hole, does it mean it is Manhole? #dontleaveme

Please don’t leave me. Stay with me!
