Stampedes happen, with it without the police. Now that the police authority is aware of the so called threat, it's for them to tighten security but not to wickedly stop an event that has taken place for nearly 4 decades without any issues. I'm not unaware that some bombings and other violent acts in Nigeria in the past were orchestrated by security agents
