Well led to rest!! It's not the type of burial given to the dead that spells out where his/her soul is heading to. Expensive burial is just an entertainment to the living who are eager to behold with their eyes the earthly perishable man-made materials used for burial.

I can as well relates with the concerns being raised by Ugo Egbulo even before reading through the entire post. However in order to connect properly i had to painstaking indulged my myself. It's quite worrisome and disturbing that we have continued on this tortuous path without a breath of inclination of its attendant consequences, what it portends for our democratic consolidation and its tolls on our fragile & ever emerging national hood. People like us championed similar cause while President Buhari held sway. Like any pro-national cohesion, as we usually hit at Buhari's perceived favouritism just like his sustained sectionalism, administrative imbalances and supposedly unwarranted clannish attachment over collective interest. Just as have consistently queried, Afenifere, a social cultural group that was always critical about good governance which is anchored on true federalism, where equity and fair deal could be entrenched, had since gone mum. The group was always on top of its voice, chided Buhari's government and birated her lopsided appointments, the stock in trade for that regime and those before him. I also recall its hard stance against the military authoritarianism, especially when Abacha was the overlord. Even Obasanjo was not speared of its onslaught and apolitical posture. While i appreciates Afenifere contributions toward our democratic stride and its sustainability, i wonder why it has to break her circle of vibrancy and her acclaimed democratic mores. Except for Baba Adebanjo who in recent times seemed to have maintained the ideal of the group under what appears like a factionalized group. I think i need to state in clear terms that i am not unmindful of the group's regional protectionism just like any other regional social cultural identity across the country. It however championed its cause within the framework of a one indissoluble and a progressive Nigeria. Now to the thrust of this subject, centered around imbalances in the polity. I often wondered what the promoters of this fainted and somewhat ignoble political ideology stands to gain. What significant impact has been recorded by those who had once tolled this path other than furthering the expansion of the dividing lines What exactly is the rationnel behind the obsession, considering this seemingly undue craves for identity attachment and familiarity protectionism And as the trend continued unabated, it seems to have defiled all curative antidotes and efforts towards rethinking our democratic model and national value recalibration Looking at the recurring display of insensitivity that characterizes this process. At times some of us that are desirous of a virile nation that is predicated on the culture of equity, fairness and collectivism consider it difficult to reconcile. I usually wonder whether our efforts at redefining the Nigerian ideal, where inclusivity, broad based bargaining chips are entrenched actually worth the energy While i seem to take exception to some of the choice of words and usage in that publication, i think we should be cautious not to throw the baby out with the bathwater You don't force unification on the throats of a complex nationality mix like Nigeria under the pull of pipes and bullets, rather, on principles that are embedded in trust, accountability, equity justice, guaranteed and imprinted on the collective psyche of all interests Perhaps If anyone should opposed to this piece, ordinarily in all intents, even when i am not a direct beneficiary, i think i should take the lead. I would have done so at least for my identity preservation. However, We rather chose the path of national preservation that is rallying on the axiom of inclusivity. Great piece. But one issue with Nigeria or Nigerians is that even Bayo Onanuga will write like this if the table turned. Let us always try and stand for something no matter how concerned or connected with power. May God help Nigeria!

Hon Chinedu Ebie is from Ekuku Agbor in Agbor Alidinma under Ekuku Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta state and Ekuku Agbor is a community with oil . Those who instituted the suit did so out of malafide intention but not out of bonafide intention. Thank God the God court has done justice to the case . There must be rrs judicata.
