Troops intercept bandits’ gun-runner, logistics supplier; neutralise 3 and capture 4 others

•Anti-bandit troops on duty in Zamfara

Nigerian troops under Operation ACCORD have intercepted a Bandits’ Gun-runner and Logistics supplier.

The Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche said: “Items recovered include 496 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and one Bajaj Motorcycle in Mararaba Maigora in Faskari LGA”.

Similarly, in a cordon and search Operation at Yauyau and Zandam villages, troops neutralized 3 Bandits while 4 others were captured.

Enenche noted that items recovered from the bandits include 7 Dane guns, 3 mobile phones and 2 Motorcycles.

Enenche said those captured are in custody for interrogations.

Furthermore, troops also engaged fleeing bandits along Dunya-Dangeza road and recovered 2 Dane guns and 4 Motorcycles.

Additionally, the Daban Jabi camp of a notorious Bandit Leader known as Dan Jangeru was also destroyed by troops.

Similarly, 2 bandits were neutralized at Warnu village while others escaped with gunshot wounds. One AK 47 rifle was recovered in the process.
