Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Senator Ahmed Maccido, Saturday accused Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State of stopping the commencement of health services at a 50-bed capacity hospital built by him in Samalo village of Wamakko local government area of the state.

He made the allegation yesterday while flagging off the distribution of materials worth N1 billion to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters in the eight local government areas that make up Sokoto Central Senatorial District.

Maccido disclosed that he built a 50- bed capacity hospital in Samalu village of Wamakko Council and supplied drugs to the facility but to date it had not been put to use.

According to him, the hospital was built in order to enhance access to health facilities for the people of the area but lamented that it had been left unutilised.

Maccido, who represents Sokoto Central Senatorial zone under PDP, alleged that Governor Wamakko had refused to allow the facility to commence services for reasons best known to him.
