President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Ejezie Emeka Rollas, on Thursday disclaimed one Deborah Oguntoyinbo, a purported Nollywood actress who has reportedly been arrested by the police in Canada over a series of identity thefts.
According to Rollas, after extensive investigations by his association, it has been found out that the so called Nollywood actress has never featured in any Nollywood film.
“The story was blatant mischief aimed at disparaging the acting profession in particular and Nollywood in general.
“The original story carried by one of the online outfits never described Deborah Oguntoyinbo as Nollywood actress,” said Rollas.
On what he has done to salvage the image of AGN, Rollas said he had sent a letter of disclaimer to the Canadian High Commission on Deborah Oguntoyinbo.
But… just hope that Deborah will not come up tomorrow with her AGN membership card which many allege is available to anyone who has the cash to pay without any background checks on the payer.
