Pastor, accomplice in Police net for kidnapping 11-year-old

The duo of 33-year-old Pastor Chijioke Nweke and Samuel Emeka, aged 30 years, both indigenes of Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, have been arrested by police operatives attached to the Anambra State Command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The suspects allegedly abducted 11-year-old Ikechukwu Ozoekwe at Awkuzu Umuobi and bundled him inside their car boot.

A statement by the state police spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, said: “Pastor Chijioke Nweke, ‘m’, 33 and Samuel Emeka, ‘m’, 30, both indigenes of Awkuzu in Oyi LGA of Anambra State had on the 18/5/2019 at about 4:30pm allegedly abducted one Ikechukwu Ozoekwe, ‘m’, aged 11 years at Akwuzu Umoubi and bundled him inside their vehicle boot.

“Meanwhile, the victim was rescued in good condition and handed over to his mother.”

Mohammed said the case is under investigation while effort is ongoing to apprehend other fleeing accomplice in order to bring them to justice.
