Breaking News: Five oil wells on fire in Ondo

A huge explosion has occurred in Ajegunle Ikorigho oil-rich community in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria, claiming five oil wells, a report from the area said.

A report by The Nation named the affected oil field as ‘Ojumole’ located in Ikorigho land, while the gutted oil fields were identified as Ojumole-Ikorigho, Isan-West and Isan field, Parable field, Malu field, Ororo and Opokaba.

The paper quoted unidentified sources as saying that the affected communities include Otumara, Ikorigho, Ajegunle-Ikorigho, Zion Ikorigho, Iluayo, Kendo Ayeren and Ehinmoghan-Ikorigho.

“The cause of the explosion has not been ascertained,” the report said.
