Independent Hajj Reporters, a civil society that monitors and reports hajj and umrah activities in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, on Thursday announced plans to honour hajj stakeholders that excelled in service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims.
Officials from Saudi Arabian and Pakistani ministries of hajj, and other countries are expected to attend the event scheduled to hold in Abuja, a statement signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Ibrahim Muhammed, and Organizing Secretary, Muhammed Garba, said.
“Hajj Excellence Award is aimed at boosting the morale and encourages hajj administrators, service providers, and regulatory agencies to offer excellent services to dear pilgrims,” the statement said.
The award categories include Best State Muslims Pilgrim’s Welfare Boards in terms of organisation, the welfare of pilgrims, among others; Best State Public Relations Officer, Best Service Oriented Tour Operator; and Best Hajj Air Carriers.
