It’s crazy out there at the Lagos end of the Ibadan – Lagos Expressway and along Ikorodu Road, where a massive go-slow has gripped the Ojota – Ojuelegba stretch of the highway.
Transport & Business Express reports that the go-slow from Ojota to Ojuelegba is caused by repair works on Ojuelegba Bridge, being carried out by men of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
“The repairs were ongoing even in the rain,” reports a roving correspondent who just passed through the road. “Traffic has built up, especially on the speed lane, from Ojota to Ojuelegba as a result,” he added.
As for the Ibadan – Lagos Expressway gridlock, which has stretched from Alausa Government House to the Ojota intersection, our correspondent said it might have been caused by the rain which fell for hours but stopped.
“There were no LASTMA men on hand to control the traffic,” our correspondent said.
Transport & Business Express reports that traffic chaos are expected in Lagos from tomorrow when serious repair works begin on the Third Mainland Bridge. The repairs will last four months, according to FERMA.
