The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is seriously considering postponing the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled to hold throughout Nigeria tomorrow, Saturday, February 16, 2019.

“There have been a lot of logistics challenges and they have been meeting over these,” a top INEC official told News Express around 11pm on Friday. “We have not been officially told but it is likely that the elections will be postponed,” the source further said.

As at the time of filing this report, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, was engaged in a marathon meeting with stakeholders in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.

INEC Spokesman Rotimi Oyekanmi neither picked his call nor responded to a text message on the issue by News Express.
