• Delta State Commissioner for Information, Patrick Ukah

Voters in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State have been called upon to elect credible leaders who have the interest of the people as their cardinal objective for going for elective posts.

The call was made on Tuesday by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Coordinator for Oshimili North and the Commissioner for Information, Chief Patrick Ukah, during the ongoing campaign of Oshimili North Campaign Council to wards in the local government area.

Chief Ukah told the people of the wards visited that the only way to ensure security of lives and property as well as live in unity and prosperity is to vote massively to enthrone Alhaji Atiku

Abubakar as the President, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi to represent Delta North in the Senate, Hon. Ndudi Elemelu as their Representative in the House of Representative while Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Princess Pat Ajudua be elected as Governor and member Delta State House of Assembly for Oshimili North respectively.

The Commissioner drew the attention of the constituents  to the massive infrastructural development embarked upon by the Okowa-led administration throughout the state and Oshimili North in particular and urged them to vote for  all the party candidates to build a formidable team that will ensure employment generation, infrastructural development and project execution that will engender all round development as well as reducing to the barest minimum poverty and squalor occasioned by bad and insensitive leadership at the national level. The Commissioner therefore urged the people to get ready and ensure that their votes count during the forthcoming elections.

The Chairman of Oshimili North PDP Campaign Council, Dr. Austin Obidi, who is also the Chairman of Hospital Management Board (HMB) told the people that it was certain that all the wards in Oshimili North are PDP strong holds hence the need for the party to get 100% vote during the elections.

Hon. Obidi stated that that since the opposition party assumed power at the federal level, it has been suffering and gnashing of teeth hence the need to vote massively for all the PDP candidates promising that once Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is sworn in as the President, marginalisation, poverty and insecurity will be things of the past.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Oshimili Noth Local Government Council, Chief Louis Ndukwe, stated that though Oshimili North has been doing well in terms of voting for PDP candidates, this time around it is important to double their votes by canvassing and convincing none party members that PDP is the best party hence the need for them to join hands and ensure victory for the party.

Hon. Ndukwe, who took time to educate the people on the need to vote wisely and correctly, told them that time of recording void votes is past, therefore the need for them to identify the right place which has the umbrella symbol thumbprint at the middle, ensure that the paper is not stained and correctly folding the paper. He assured the Local Government Campaign Council that they will work harder so that all the party candidates were duly elected.

The wards visited includes ward 1, Akwukwu Igbo and Atuma, ward 2 , Ebu, Ward 3, Illah, and Ward 10 comprising of Ukala Okpunor, Ukala Okwute and Aniwalo, wards 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Ibusa.

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of the party’s candidate for the State House of Assembly election, Princess Pat Ajudua, to the people.

The campaign will come to an end on Saturday in Okpanam.
