The Anambra State Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Garba Baba Umar, on Wednesday, embarked on assessment visits to camps in the commercial city of Onitsha where officers and men are receiving training on crowd control, weapon handling, musketry, Baton and Rifles Exercise (BARE practices), among others.

The training came on the heels of the recent directives by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris on Quick Intervention Units.

Addressing the men at the Onitsha Camp, Umar urged the officers to remain committed to the task so as to learn all the training skills and inculcate same against 2019 elections and future security challenges.

He also advised them to be professional and civil to members of the public while discharging their duties in accordance with internationally acceptable best practices.
