Business mogul, Chief Sunny Odogwu, has died at age 87.
The Delta-born but Lagos-based tycoon who had vast interests in insurance, hospitality, real estate, manufacturing and telecommunications was said to have died on Monday night surrounded by members of his family.
His death is, however, yet to be formally announced since, as an Asaba High Chief, the Asagba in Council would first have to be informed.
Born on March 20, 1931, Chief Odogwu was Chairman of SIO Group of Companies, an holding entity with investments in property development, shipping, finance, industrial relations and hotel management.
He was the Publisher of the defunct Post Express newspapers, published both in Port Harcourt and Lagos. He held several honours and awards, including the national awards of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) and Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).
