The Anambra State Police Command on Friday said that the last victim rescued from the three storey building collapsed early Thursday morning has lost his life.

The Togolese victim was the last of the two victims that were trapped in the rubbles of the collapsed building even as nine others were rescued.

Recall that one victim was rescued yesterday after twelve hours in the rubble, but was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital by the doctor on duty.

With the death of the last victim trapped in the rubble, it brings to total two deaths, while nine were saved.

The police spokesman in the state who confirmed the incident said, "The last victim was rescued and taken to the hospital but was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on arrival.

"Total number of victims rescued alive are nine while those certified dead are two."
